"The Small Details"

Rich B. has submitted more trivia from the C39 episodes.

Thanks, Rich!

UNEXPLAINABLE INCONSISTENCIES:

The "Silver Fruit Dish" atop the Kramden's bureau, appears in 38 of the
Classic 39 Honeymooners episodes, but not in A WOMEN'S WORK IS NEVER
DONE. Apparently it was omitted so Norton could later stack drawers on
top of the bureau, without first having to remove the Fruit Dish.

The "Kitchen Sink" in the Kramden's Apartment, remains clean and white
in 32 of the Classic 39 episodes, but in THE MAN FROM SPACE - $99,000
ANSWER - YOUNG AT HEART - A DOG'S LIFE - HERE COMES THE BRIDE - PLEASE
LEAVE THE PREMISES and ALICE AND THE BLONDE, it's inexplicably filthy!

The "Plywood" next to the Kramden's Kitchen Sink, is painted Black in
the first 23 episodes of the Classic 39, but in the remaining 16
episodes the Plywood is Bare and Unpainted.

The "Bureau" in the Kramden's Apartment, has a Dark veneer in the first
12 episodes of the Classic 39. Then in the following 7 episodes, the
bureau's veneer appears to alternate between Light and Dark, and then
remains a Light veneer for the remaining 20 episodes.

The "Silverware" Alice uses to set the table in the Classic 39, is
always kept on top of the Ice Box. But when Teddy Oberman raids the
Kramden's Ice Box in PAL O' MINE, Alice goes to the bureau to retrieve a
knife and fork for him to use.

The "Ice Box Door" in the Kramden's Apartment, appears to be roughly "1"
inch thick when Ralph removes it in THE MAN FROM SPACE to create his
Outfit. When he next appears wearing the Ice Box door as part of his
Costume, it appears to be at least "3" inches thick.

The "Pool Hall" contains a Phone Booth in TRAPPED, but the next time we
see Kramden and Norton there playing pool in THE BENSONHURST BOMBER, the
Phone Booth has mysteriously disappeared.

RECYCLED PROPS:

The obvious Recycled Props and Costumes are, the "Golfer Outfit" used in
both THE GOLFER and the Costume Contest in THE MAN FROM SPACE. And, the
tattered "Suitcase" from FUNNY MONEY, used again in UNCONVENTIONAL
BEHAVIOR and THE BENSONHURST BOMBER.

A more subtle example of Recycled Props, are the Kitchen Appliances
ordered up by Ralph as a surprise for Alice in FUNNY MONEY. When Alice
says, "All this stuff has to go back", she couldn't have been more on
target. The Kitchen Sink, Cabinets, Stove, Refrigerator and Dinette Set,
would all have to go back to the "Norton's Apartment Set", to be used in
later episodes. These Appliances can be seen again briefly adorning the
Norton's Apartment, in BETTER LIVING THROUGH TV. And while not seen but
undoubtedly there for the live audience, they're used again during the
filming of HELLO MOM and A MATTER OF RECORD.

More "Small Details" From Rich B.

The "SHELF" affixed to the wall over the stove holding three canisters
in the Kramden's Apartment which appears in 38 of the 39 episodes, is
mysterious absent in "A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH."

A "Drain Pipe" next to the sink in the Kramden's Apartment, appears in
UNCONVENTIONAL BEHAVIOR, THE BENSONHURST BOMBER, and DIAL J FOR JANITOR,
but doesn't appear in any other episode.

The "White Dish Towel" hanging on the towel rack over the sink in the
Kramden's Apartment, is mistakenly left there when the prop men
hurriedly hung the new Cabinets over the set in FUNNY MONEY, and is
quite visable if you look closely.

The "Wrist Watch" Norton wants to retrieve, that he says he left on the
nightstand in the Hospital room, is a visual inconsistency. He wasn't
wearing a wrist watch in the Kramden's Apartment when he was called to
work in the Hemrod Street sewer, prior to the explosion that later
occurred.

Lastly, the ULTIMATE piece of Trivia,...We know the same round black
"Alarm Clock" is used in THE SLEEPWALKER and in A MATTER OF RECORD, but
it also appears in a third episode,...which one? Answer: THE GOLFER. It
can be seen briefly in the background, sitting atop the bureau facing
backwards.
